Welcome to Sol Hollow Studio pottery class information page. We're currently scheduling classes and workshops  to begin in January, February, and March, 2025. As you'll see below, we offer both private, and open-enrollment style classes. We also offer single classes, 4-week and 6-week session classes. If you don't see an option that suits your schedule or skill level, simply give us a shout and we'll see what we can work out. Check out our single class events under "Friday Night Pottery," we've added Saturday afternoon classes, plus we've a 24hr/7day Membership Access option (details below).

Classes By-Appointment: Private Individual or Private Group Sessions in either 2hr or 3hr classes. We teach all the basics of wheel throwing such as wedging, coning, centering, then opening the clay and pulling up the walls in our 2hr class. The 3hr class differs in that it allows for more time practicing techniques learned. Most beginners make two to six items in those time frames. A private one-on-one 2hr class is $135/person, and a 3hr class is $145/person, (plus state tax). Our private group (two people or more), 2hr class is $105/person, and the private group 3hr class is $125/person, (plus state tax). This option is for students 10 years and older. Class tuition fees include all clay, kiln firings, use of studio tools. Please note this is a clay class only, glazing options/cost will be discussed at time of booking. Also available for hand-building classes.

Studio Memberships are now available for experienced Potter's who have completed at least one of our 4 or 6-week class sessions (experienced potters from other studios are welcome once once skill level has been demonstrated). Monthly fee due of $165 (plus tax), includes 24 hour access to studio tools and equipment (wheels, slab roller, wall & hand-held extruders, clay cutters, GR pottery forms, selection of studio tools), reclaimed clay as supplies allow, selection of dipping glazes, dedicated shelf storage, kiln firings, plus special technique classes at no extra cost. A selection of Standard Clays & Laguna Clays are available for separate purchase with a 5% discount off our retail price. Member's are also encouraged to attend one of our regularly scheduled weekly classes each month at no extra cost (reservations required). While members are not limited to specific days or hours each month, Wednesdays and Sundays will be dedicated as "member's only".

Pottery is fun but messy, so you'd wear old clothes and bring an old towel you don't mind getting muddy. No rings or wrist jewelry.  Tie up long hair & cut fingernails very short. If you forget your towel, you may "rent" one from us for $3.

Scheduling: if you'd like to schedule a class, either email me at solhollowstudio@gmail.com, or call/text 304-995-6265. We're very flexible with scheduling, we even have the ability to schedule same-day classes if the studio is available, but we do recommend you phone or text for same-day availability.

Payment: we accept all forms of payment but good old fashioned cash or cheque is always nice. We do accept credit/debit, Venmo, and Paypal but, please be aware, those services incur a 4% transaction fee. All classes are subject to our local 6% tax.

CAUTIONS: This studio offers a mix of belt-driven and magnet drive pottery wheels. Please inform your instructor if you've a medical condition that could be impacted by magnets. Some clay bodies contain ingredients that may not be suitable for pregnant women, please inform your instructor if you may be pregnant. Please consult with your doctor prior to booking if you've any health concerns with the aforementioned items,or health issues that might be impacted by clay products/silica dust.
